Hello everyone,
I am trying to trace a Croatian branch of my family back a few generations, but I have hit a wall. Can anyone help me to get past through it and find other ancestors

? Here is what I know:

  • Iskra Vincentius (possibly born in Jelsane), son of Marcus and Marinaz Caterina, married Marinaz Maria (possibly born near Rijeka?) in Rijeka in 1888; she was the daughter of Vincentius and Simcic Maria (I have included the marriage record below; Marinaz Maria had a sister born in Klana in 1854). They are Catholic; n.198
  • Faraguna Franciscus, son of Antonius and Scopaz Maria, born in Labin around 1895. They are Catholic.

Parish records prior to 1880 are available on FamilySearch and Matricula Online; perhaps searching inthese sites could open up a path to finding further information and other ancestors.

You may find the Austro-Hungarian Empire Research group helpful.
