How do you handle this pop-up 'Changes will lower Family Search Quality Score Editing'?
Recently while updating, revising names in Family Search, particularily "female" names the system gives you this alert "Changes will lower Family Search Quality Score Editing" as a second/sebsequent check to ensure you are making the correct changes to a person(s) record and/or identify.
* I noticed this alert is ""frequent"" when the 'Social Secutiry Numerical Identification Files (NUMIDENT) changes are involved specifically to females.
* However the way and the language posted within this alert is confusing because the request to review changes being made are not restricted to that specific individual.
* The Social Security edit logic provides the;
- females full birth name which includes her birth surname
_ ALL married surnames or that female
- When childen are involved the mother's full name which is also her birth sustnme,
sometimes the husbands full name, the child's full birth name
- The date of birth of the of the target individal
- The place og birt of thetarget individal (sometimes parts of the city name is missing)
* Records for married females are identified and posted under the husbands surname which we resesrchers convert to the females birth surname when we post her informamtion under her identification PIN number.
The way Family Search editing is reacting to the SSA Numerical Identificaton Edit this new pop-up edit is giving dislplaying this error validation editing "Changes will lower Family Search Quality Score Editing".
* For new researchers, non-seasonsed, ans any researchrees wo have not encountered this new Social Security edit logic which provides the birth and married surnames for females will change and/or remove historical data in error.
* Also in reviewing how the Family Search system editing is posting data edit inquiries based on the Social Security Edit inforamation, Family Search needs to re-evalate how their system is provding editing inquiries to us researchers:
1 - in the case below both husband and wife full names are provided eveb though this SSA edit is for the wife.
A - The 2 conflicts shown below are indicating the husbands information is conflicting with the wife birth name and her birth surname
B - What is a "Quality Score"?
* how does it relate to updating individual personal information and
* WHY does it matter to a researcher?

Your screenshots are evidence of a known current bug that the engineers are working to fix.

@Áine.ní.Donnghaile and @Rhonda Budvarson for the person I am helping to research her deceased relative(who has living close relatives), the Numident shows an obituary which when transcribed (probably by AI) marked the living family members as deceased — could this instance be part of the bug engineers are working to fix? What would FS need to "prove" they are alive or should I fix the Numident info thru Historical Records? I don't want to alarm the living family members with whom I am acquainted

@Doniece Watkins To answer the question that you asked in the title, you can just click the SAVE button. The only difference between these cases and the scenario where there isn't one of these dialogs is that a Reason is mandatory in these cases. If you had just entered a reason when you were making the changes, that is carried through and shown again (as in your example). There wouldn't appear to any need to add anything further to the reason, given that the alert messages are mostly spurious currently.
