Need Help figuring out if these are the Real parents
Hello, I have been researching Joseph Napoleon Cassavaw 1879-1936 ID: LD8H-F9P and realized that there is a high chance that the parents listed, Peter Cassavant and Elise Routhier*, are not the actual parents. Just need help to figure out if these are actually the real parents. :)
*(there has already been research done on Elise Routhier under discussion titled: Research help for Eliza Alice "Elsie" Prespare dite Routhier 1851-1928)

Hi @Benjamin48508.
This appears to be Joseph listed as Peter's son on the 1900 census. The birth month and year matches what he put on his WWI draft card. On the 1905 NY census, it looks like Joseph is again living in Peter's household.
Peter and Joseph were both buried by the same church, likely the same cemetery, per their obituaries:
In the cemetery plot map, there are 3 plots together for the family 265-267. I would suggest contacting Saint Patrick's church. They may have more information about this family, the burials, etc. Possibly, they have Joseph's marriage record. I think this is their contact information.
I believe this is Eliza's indexed 1915 death record, though I couldn't find an obituary.
Since Joseph died in 1936, there should be a death certificate with the county, which would hopefully have the parents' names on it. You could request a copy from the town clerk.
