FS most frustrating (non-)feature
Dear All,
I got an email from FS with a link to the page below:
All records are marked "dismissed" and linked records can't be shown:
There is no way to identify the document in the state archive mentioned collections, so what is the point of it except sending me berserk in frustration?
Best regards

Good morning @guido paoluzi cusani
Unfortunately, you've encountered that recent issue with new restrictions imposed on Italian records.
The system algorithm doesn't know you can't see the records. The hints were possibly created while the records were available. And, the hints will probably disappear once the system undergoes another refresh.4 -
I agree, emails like that are extremely frustrating because they do not give you the information you need to find the actual record they are referring to, even if it is now unavailable.
Because most of the items I can see in your image say "State Archive," I strongly suggest you search on Antenati - that's where access to most State archive records were moved.

I know the records is most certainly referring to documents available from
https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/
This only does it more frustrating, because there is no hint to the specific image, except the collection name… no year, no type, no place… it's millions of images and the info was available when the record was made, so it's not avalaible on purpose!

There are several very helpful researchers in the Italy Research Group, including @SantaNinfa and @Cousin Vinny.
They may well be able to help you find the necessary records.
Best of luck!1 -
Just a thought, I would print out that list of Dismissed Hints before they disappear so that you'll have it if you ever need it
