How to allow immediate family to see memories

My friend has posted photos and documents about herself and her husband (living.) She would like her children and grandchildren to be able to see those, but since she's a living person, thinks that would not be possible. Can she somehow allow her immediate family to see these "memories?"

The key: Living‑person memories can be shared — but only inside a Family Group

FamilySearch keeps all memories of living people private by default BUT your friend can override that privacy for specific people by using a Family Group.

Inside a Family Group: She can upload photos, documents, and stories about herself and her living husband. She can mark them “Group Only” instead of “Private.” Anyone in that group (children, grandchildren, siblings, etc.) can see them. No one outside the group can see them.

This is currently the only way FamilySearch allows sharing memories of living people.

1. Create a Family Group

• Go to FamilySearch → Family Groups
• Click Create Group
• Name it something like “[Surname] Family Memories”
• Invite her children and grandchildren (they’ll get an email or in‑app invite)

2. Turn on “Family Group Tree” (optional but helpful)

This allows everyone to see and collaborate on the living family members in one shared tree.

3. Upload memories and set visibility

When she uploads a photo or document:

• Click Visibility
• Choose “Group Only”

Now only her invited family members can see it.
