I see that Ebenezer is documented as having served in the military during the time of the US Civil War. Have you searched for a Civil War pension on Fold3? Those records often contain amazing detail, including maiden names of wives, and exact dates of birth of children from the time before vital records.3 -
In the 1863 Civil War Draft Registration of Warwasing, Greene County, Ebenezer and George Degolia are both listed.
It may be worthwhile to research George, possibly a brother. Sometimes, collateral research of the family will reveal information not found in direct research.1
