Why are so many members still calling FamilySearch "Family History"?

Perhaps it has to do with old habits and evolution.
Around 1964, the first Family Search Centers opened. They were called branch genealogical libraries.
In 1987, they were renamed Family History Centers or FHCs. So they were called FHCs for many years.
In 2023, FamilySearch renamed them FamilySearch Centers to better align with their website brand.

The former name of the buildings - only changed a couple of years ago - was "Family History Center." Now the locations are "FamilySearch Center." And, we are still working on Family History when we visit a Center or come to this Community for help.
