I found Clara Litzius's arrival in New York City in July 1922 on Ancestry, where the ship manifest said her last permanent residence in Germany was: Gau-Algesheim.

"Klara Litzius" is listed on line 29 of the manifest.

Note in her 1924 marriage record that the entries for the birthplaces of her father and mother recorded on lines 23 and 24 respectively are written as: "Gau" in the first space and then "Alpersheim" in the second space.

I believe that "Gau-Alpersheim" as written in the 1924 marriage record is actually "Gau-Algesheim", and the clerk entered it incorrectly and spelled it incorrectly on the form.

I could find no place in Meyers Gazetteer called "Alpersheim". I did however find a place called "Elpersheim" (very close phonetically) in Württemberg which might be a possibility: https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/10430048.

In case you don't have a subscription to Ancestry, you can access at most public libraries and all FamilySearch Centers, free of charge.

Ancestry also has a "share" option that allows subscribers to share some records with those who are not subscribers. It's a long link:
