I Have some pictures from a family member and she can't tell me who they are. Some of them a names on the back, But I can not find them in family search. I know they are from New York,
De Palma is one name, the other she is not sure how its spelled looks like Marricello or Manrcello.
Hope someone can help.

@Tammy Crenshaw Can you provide a little more information ie Given and Surname with a time period for birth and/or death or marriage? The surname DePalma, for example, has a deep historical connection to New York; with DePalma families settling in Brooklyn and Manhattan in the mid-late 1800's. Best wishes

@Tammy Crenshaw I feel for you, I have loads of lovely family photos from around the 1920s that just have dates scribbled on the back (I'm sure the lady who did it, whom I remember with much affection, thought she was doing enough). The one that did have a name on it proved really useful in research, but the others are sitting there looking at me .... Thank goodness future researchers will hopefully have better metadata to work off.

I know how tempting it is to find out who are in the photos when you receive a pile of new pictures.
And, as suggested, we can definitely help you if you can provide us with more details. But, try not to let the pictures you received sidetrack you from your primary task - building out your tree.
May I suggest that you simply continue to work on your own family tree and methodically build out each branch, step by step, moving back at least a few generations. Build out all relatives of yours on both sides of your tree. Build out all of their siblings and parents and so on. Be careful and methodical, branch by branch, leaf by leaf.
Sounds basic, right? - yes, but it's important. You mentioned that "you have some pictures from a family member" and listed a few surnames of Italian origin. I assure you that once you fully build out your tree, sooner or later, you will find those surnames in your tree if they indeed are family members.

Just know that Italian families in New York are expansive and they often celebrated holidays and weddings with all of their 1st and 2nd cousins, and in-laws.
