Mollie Welch/husband John E. Davis
I have very little information. In my family bible it says her name was Mollie Welch. Born Sept 13, 1848 died about 1865 in junction kimble county texas. She was the first wife of John E. Davis b.1844 d. 1927. I know people are always getting her mixed up with his second wife Rachel taylor gibbs. I know there was a newspaper article out years ago where some cousins were talking about John E. Davis being an Indian agent or tracker or something like that. I'm just wondering if Mollie was an Indian woman who died young or someone he met along the way of his travels. Either way I want to know more about her and if she had relatives or not. Any thing you find would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

@Samantha VanStory Have you tried Ancestry? I found a tree matching some details you give; and I found the Mollie Welch GQL3-1GN that you made changes to on Family Search. Mollie was a common given name during the 1800's but it was not a nickname for Amanda. From the little bit I read, I suggest you do a little more research in addition to Find-A-Grave because there's lots more to the story of the correct Mollie Welch and her husband John E Davis.

Yes I have my problem I can not afford anything on ancestry but the free account and got about as far as I did on family search. I was kinda hoping that someone who does have a paid account could possibly look it up for me. I just keep hitting a road block.

It is permissible for someone with an Ancestry.com account to share information with someone who does not have an account. Facts themselves—names, dates, places, relationships, and transcriptions—are not restricted and may be shared freely.
However, Ancestry’s record images and other subscription‑only materials are covered by licensing agreements. Those images should not be downloaded, reposted, or redistributed outside of Ancestry’s platform. If someone needs access to the original image, they can use:
- A FamilySearch Center or public library that offers Ancestry Library Edition
- The record on FamilySearch or another archive, if available
- Their own Ancestry subscription or trial
Sharing citations, summaries, and transcriptions is fully acceptable and often the best way to help someone locate the record through a source they can access, such as FamilySearch, NARA, or a state archive.

Also, keep in mind that Mollie was a common nickname for Mary during the 1700 and 1800 hundreds.

Update: I did find a page that had been updated but the city and or the ranch owners where my 3rd great grandmother is buried that stayed that the name on the marker says Amanda "molly" Taylor Davis.
