Problem dealing with errors in indexes for Swedish household records
It has taken me several hours to correct the information about an illegitimate Swedish child in the 1800s whose father was listed as the woman that was his grandmother. Someone put this in Family Search using a Swedish household record as a source. The information in the original record is clear to anyone who knows Swedish research, but the index that accompanies the original source is badly messed up. I have seen these messed up indexes for Swedish records often when there is something a little different from a standard family. I don’t want to spend my time trying to correct these indexes, which is often impossible, but when people who don’t know Swedish research use these mixed-up indexes, it messes up the family. Could a place be made in the index for us to add a note warning people that a particular index is not correct?
