Dear FamilySearch Support Team,I would like to report a missing period in the digital images of the collection: "Hungary, Veszprém, Gógánfa - Civil Registration".Specifically, the Death records between 1904 and 1906 (Halottak 1904–1906) are completely missing from the available DGS groups. I have checked the entire film page by page, and this specific 3-year gap is not included in DGS 5013124 (Births 1899–1906) nor in DGS 5013126 (Deaths 1898–1903), despite the archival covers indicating that the records should exist.Could you please verify if these images are available in your master vault/microfilm archive and were simply skipped during the digitization process?Thank you for your assistance and for maintaining this wonderful database.Best regards,

@bszl The catalog is a little misleading as it doesn't differentiate between death certificates and death registers. The films covering records up to 1903 contain individual civil death registrations — essentially single-page death certificates, one per document. Beginning in 1907 and continuing through 1980, the records are in a death registry format, where multiple entries appear on each page.

There is clearly not a gap, but just an end to the filming of one type of record and the beginning of another. When records are genuinely skipped during digitization, we typically see an abrupt break in the film, and that is not the case here. It is correct for you to assume that death records were created between 1903 and 1907, but it seems likely they were not microfilmed for any number of reasons.

You are welcome, however to submit a request to have the original microfilm pulled and examined to see whether anything was missed. Look under FAQ at this link: FamilySearch Library Film Collection
