Father's Record Produces an Unknown Result
Hi, I am new to FamilySearch and after creating my account I sat down with my dad to connect his record, and my mom's, to mine. However, when I search for his record number it produces an unknown result. Why? And, how do I connect into his record?

FamilySearch automatically places all living people into a private space that is visible only to the account that created that specific profile. This means that even close family members—parents, spouses, children—cannot see each other’s living records. This is part of FamilySearch’s privacy protections and is working as designed.
Because of this, you will not be able to view a living profile for your father if it was created by someone else. Likewise, any living profile you create for him will be visible only to you.
If you need your father represented in your tree, you are welcome to create a living record for him in your own private space. Once you add his deceased parents, the system will automatically connect you to the shared Family Tree.

Your father has a profile that he created that resides in his private space. You will need to create a separate profile for him that will reside in your private space. Each version will have a different ID.
