Finding my ancesor's birth place G7R7-TS7

Newbie here, so TYIA!

I've hit a wall trying to find John's (Johann's) specific birthplace. All census and naturalization records point to Württemberg, but nothing more specific. I've searched passenger lists through FamilySearch and have limited access to Ancestry, but no luck so far.

I'm also hoping to identify his actual immigration date and ship. Based on his naturalization records and estimating from his death certificate, it appears he may have immigrated around 1830.

Would Lutheran church records be my next best step, or are there other resources I should be exploring to narrow down his birthplace and arrival information?

I just took a quick look at the family and saw that they were in Baltimore, Maryland, from the mid 1800s.

The FindMyPast website allows access to the Roman Catholic records for Baltimore, and I first found the marriage for Charles Edward Romoser, grandson of Johann.

Knowing a family's religion is often helpful - and even necessary - as we move back through earlier records.

If you post in the Germany Research Group, with the added detail about the likely family religion, someone there may be able to assist.

Then, I started digging more deeply. I found the baptism for a son of Johann, in 1847, which includes his mother's maiden name, Eva Roth. It also has the name of what I believe to be Johann's hometown in Germany.

I don't want to lead you astray with a guess. I'm consulting someone with more experience in German research. It also has a hometown for Eva Roth.

I've now found the marriage of Johann and Eva, as well as baptisms for several more children. The German place names are consistent.

I've found enough records now that I am confident of the location.

For Johann, the modern name is Kurhessen. In earlier records, you may find it as Churhessen. I see both in these Baltimore Roman Catholic registers.

For Johann's wife, Eva Roth, her home is mostly listed as Bayern, or Bavaria in English. Some of the records for Eva are more specific, including "Würzburg."

Thank you so much. My only concern is that I’m fairly certain my ancestors were consistently Lutheran. In addition, Johann’s naturalization and census records all point to Württemberg.

Could certainly be a different family with similar names.
