I have found a child\parent relationship that is reversed. LHRR-GC3 As you can see by the dates, it is all messed up. I probably did it myself. Regardless, it needs fixed, and for some reason, I can't fathom how to. Can someone please give me a walk through on how to make this right?

Respectfully,

    Hi, @Karri Marie Koelling I made you screenshots so you can practice doing it yourself.

    Go to the person page for Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Einfinger. Copy the PID for his father LHRR-GC3

    Click the edit button next to his name to access the edit parents area.

    Once the popup opens, click the "remove or replace" button and add his father's PID

    Read the statement, check the box, and click "Replace" the father. Enter the correct father PID.

    Please let us know if you need further assistance.

    @Karri Marie Koelling

    Although the steps above will succeed in adding Friedrich Einfinger LHRR-GC3 as the father of Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Einfinger K8W8-2RQ, before you do that, you might want to consider if that is really the right thing to do.

    Notice that Friedrich Einfinger LHRR-GC3 supposedly died in 1815. Yet you are proposing to add him as the father of a child who was born in 1831. That's a contradiction, so something is wrong. Either he isn't really the father, or he died much later than 1815, or the child was born much earlier than 1831. Note also that Friedrich Einfinger LHRR-GC3 currently has a wife in Family Tree, and a daughter born in 1842. That's already a significant inconsistency that you would need to reconcile with your proposed changes.

    You really need to examine source documents and try to determine what the correct dates and relationships are before you make just this one change. Note also that you will need to remove Friedrich Einfinger LHRR-GC3 as a son of Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Einfinger K8W8-2RQ — that's clearly an incorrect relationship, too.
