Merging Two Floating Branches in the Community Tree
When you find two floating (unconnected) branches in the community tree that have the same primary person, with different PID's, what factors should be considered before merging?
In one floating branch the primary person has no wife, no children - however has many levels of ancestors.
In the other floating branch the primary person has a wife, several children - however has no listed ancestors.
In a case like this does it make any difference which person is selected to be the surviving individual in the merge process? If so why?
Does Family Search have any tutorials regarding this process?
Assumed - Through thorough research of sources it has been determined the primary person in each of the floating branches is in fact the same person.
