Help needed: Hama, Syria Film 8012745 - Akrab village - Dahood family
Hello everyone,
I am looking for my family from Akrab village, Hama, Syria. The records are restricted and I cannot view them from home in Germany.
Could a kind volunteer with center access please help me?
Details:
- Film Number: 8012745 - Hama Civil Registration 1905-1925
- Village: Akrab / Aqrab / عقرب
- Family name: Dahood / Dawood / Dawud / الداود
- Person: Ibrahim Dahood - looking for him and his father's name
- His son: Mohammad Ibrahim Dahood - my grandfather
I need screenshots of:
- The index page that mentions "Akrab"
- Any pages in the Akrab section that list the "Dahood" family
If Film 8012745 is not available, Film 8012746 might also have them.

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide screenshots or copies from restricted FamilySearch films. Those restrictions are set by FamilySearch’s agreements with record custodians and may involve privacy, contract, or copyright limitations.

Once you have a location, I recommend contacting them before visiting to confirm their hours and whether restricted FamilySearch images can be accessed there.
If you are not able to visit a FamilySearch Center or affiliate library yourself, you may want to look for a professional genealogist or record agent who works with Syrian, Middle Eastern, Arabic-language, or civil registration records. I must admit I am rather puzzled about this topic.
I am not connected with FamilySearch and I live in Australia.
Similar to @Áine.ní.Donnghaile 's post, when I search for the film numbers quoted , I do not get records for Syria. In fact when I search for Hama Civil Registration, I get no results at all. When I look at the FamilySearch Wiki page Syria Civil Registration https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Syria_Civil_Registration there is no mention of any online data similar to what Mohammad2972 is speaking about.
So I am left with a few alternatives. Either @Mohammad2972 is speaking about records in the FamilySearch catalog which are catalogued differently so that they show up in Arabic, but not in English, or they show up when accessed in Germany, but not in USA or Australia, or perhaps he is a LDS Church member to whom the records are available. The other alternative is that perhaps the records he is speaking about are not FamilySearch records.
Perhaps @shecorwe , as moderator, can advise.

@Mohammad2972 I agree with áine, the DGS numbers are for France and Luxembourg. Can you provide a screenshot so we can see what you see?
