Death data on Canada Prairies 1926 census record

I haven't checked out similar records but would think the place of Death on this census record is due to an error in processing the data during, or post, indexing. Any alternative ideas of how this might have happened would be appreciated.

    Yes, if I look at the screen to edit the index (I did not edit it, I just wanted to see what it said…) this is part of what I see:

    I'd take a wild guess that at some point after the initial creation of this index, the place on the lower Census section has got floated up into the previous section and somehow become a place for the Death section.

    If I recall correctly there are censuses which list people who have died in the previous 12 months, so it's not stupid to have a Death section. I'm not sure why there are two Census sections.

    There was a similar report about the 1926 Canada Prairie Census last year:

    And a different issue on the same census from a few days ago.

    @Adrian Bruce1 WRT censuses which mention those who have died, the US census for some years included those who had recently died, and there was a separate Mortality Schedule for the same census, often with cause of death. Very helpful, as many US locations did not yet maintain vital records at that time.
    For example, the instructions to Enumerators for the 1870 US Census regarding Names of individuals:

    @Paul W

    Thank you for your patience with this. As noted, the Canada Prairie Provinces Census collection has experienced some difficulties in the past. Many of the records had mistakenly been labeled as Death instead of Census as the primary event. Our main records archive has since been corrected, but the search index — which also powers Source Linker — still shows the old "Death" label in some cases. This sync issue is a known problem and is already being addressed by engineers.

    If you see a Death event appearing in the index, before attaching the record in Source Linker, simply delete that Death event. This should resolve the problem and allow Source Linker to work correctly.
