The catalog says the collection is Gwinnette (SIC) county GA reverted land lot records. The contents of the film, some spot-checks, not exhaustive review, appear to be valid, live 1820 Gwinnett County land lottery grants. There is no noted evidence of reversion, etc.

There appears to be a subtle difference in these grant documents from others from the GA Surveyor General source. For Gwinnett District 5 Lot 286 one Surveyor General source does NOT include the winner's militia district. This set DOES include the militia district.

Request verification of why these are described as "reverted" lots, and associated provenance for the film's catalog description. And, if you can explain why the militia district information is present, I'd love your insights!

That DGS is only available at FamilySearch Centers and affiliate libraries. I haven't had time to visit mine this past week to check.
The GMD has been used to specify Georgia locations up to modern times.

The collection you referenced is labeled as reverted records but I think you are correct that they are valid land lottery grants as shown on the film 8193516:

As to why the records on 8193516 documented the militia district when most did not, I'll leave that one to the experts.
