Records from French Guiana seemingly disappeared from FamilySearch catalog

I used to be able to access records from French Guiana. 2 or 3 years ago, it stopped working. I can no longer access any records from French Guiana by doing a Place Search.

All the records from French Guiana are still on FamilySearch. You just can't access them through a Place Search. I would like to see this fixed.

For example, if I want to look up church records from the capital city of Cayenne, I do this:

Cayenne 1.jpg

No records will be found.

Cayenne 2.jpg

However, I discovered a work around. I can do a keyword search on Cayenne.

So now it finds all the records from Cayenne.

Cayenne 4.jpg

When I look at

Registres de l'état civil, 1795-1870

I see that in the description that the records are listed under Cayenne (Guyane française).

I believe that the problem is that French Guiana does not match Guyane française.

@Matthew Ruhlig I know this is frustrating. I found the results as you described. I will talk to the engineers and see what can be done about this. Until then, continue to use your workaround. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
