Restricted Record Lookup Request

There is a 1789 Halifax County, Virginia Marriage record that according to 'The Virginia Genealogist' shows consent of Father, Nickerson Oliver. Can some one take a look for me as it could help resolve some line 'issues'

There seem to be conflicting messages on that record. IF it is available at my FSC, I'll retrieve a copy on my next visit.

@SerraNola Could you add this one to your very, very, very long list, please? When I clicked through on Mark's link, the message indicated that I should be able to view it from home.

But, when I click on Browse the Film, DGS 7578988 presents a sea of padlocks.

The catalog also shows that marriages from 1789 should be available.

Item 3 is not padlocked, but the earliest viewable image is from 1822.

The one in Virginia Vital Records has more information, including Nickerson Oliver as the signer of the certificate. Images can be viewed at a FS Center or AL.

Áine, the explanation for the catalog error is the same as I mentioned in a previous thread—mixed permissions.
