    @MickeySimpson2
    A quick dig in Full Text Search, focused on Marion District, South Carolina, returned these 1840 records:
    https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-C34G-PSKS-F

    There are also several deeds bearing his name in that time and place.

    I'm looking specifically for this document's source. I had saved a "snippet" of it but did not note the source. Thank you for the info about the other document.

    @MickeySimpson2
    You should be able to locate it using the Full Text Search option, if you found it on FamilySearch.
    https://www.familysearch.org/en/search/full-text

    By specifying Marion, South Carolina, the decade, and type of record, you should be able to locate the record. The filters on the left side will allow you to drill down to a precise time/place.
