How do I get to the directions for the various indexing tasks?
I've always been more of one to seek help from other people or search a specific question on the internet, but I decided to finally go through and thoroughly read the directions for 'full name review'. I've spent several minutes going around in circles and haven't found anything. The web site seems more keen on leading me to doing the task than actually telling me how to do the task.

@bjmurph - thank you for finding that blog for Full Name Review. However, I confess that I am still puzzled over Quick Name Review, which, so far as I can see, doesn't check names at all, just single words within names. And I can't see that QNR adds anything to the process because everything is done again in Full Name Review. All of which is counter-intuitive to my logical mind and therefore suggests that I'm missing something…
https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/help-with-quick-name-review appears to be the instructions for QNR though they don't explain the context very well. It persists in saying things like "Compare the handwritten name in the image with the indexed name shown in the text box below the highlight" when this doesn't appear to be what happens. So far as I can see, it doesn't check the name (which I interpret as meaning the full name) - it only, as far as I can see, checks single words within a name.
Grateful for any explanations

@Adrian Bruce1 - Quick Name review is specific to the part of the name that is highlighted NOT the full name.
The following is taken from instructions of Get Involved mobile app and perhaps describes it better
- Compare the handwritten name in the image with the indexed name shown in the text box below the highlight.
- If you determine that the indexed name shown in the text box matches the highlighted name on the record, tap Match. The two names should be spelled exactly the same.
- If you determine that the indexed name shown in the text box does not match the highlighted name on the record, tap Edit, make the correction, and tap Done.
- An example might be if the computer indexed "george" when the text clearly reads "George." In that case, fix the mistake and tap Match.
- If you cannot read the name in the image, tap Unsure.
- If the highlighted area is not a person or if the name is highlighted incorrectly, tap the Flag icon and choose one of the options. To undo, tap the Flag icon again and tap the same option again.
Our role as volunteers in Get Involved is to verify the work that AI has done. Just like humans it makes mistakes and all of you are helping to verify that work. Thank you for all your efforts.

@bjmurph - thanks for those instructions. However, I would point out that nothing like those instructions appear in the browser version. I just see a box labelled "Name" with the Match, Edit, etc options. I still believe that anyone reading such a screen will interpret "Name" as meaning the full name, and will therefore get it wrong. I'm quite happy to accept that it's only supposed to refer to a single word in the name - but it doesn't say that.
I would suggest that the box is not labelled "Name" but something like "Name part" or "Name word" - anything to direct people away from correcting it to the full name.

@AnthonyHopkins5 Here is a little tip for you as you search for instructions in the Get Involved Opportunities. Look for information dated in the year 2025 and beyond. In other words, the most recent one that you can find. The reason is that Get Involved has been tweaked and retweaked so much, and FamilySearch has not been able to keep up with updating its instructions. However, I know that assignments have been given to update that information. It will take a lot of patience on our part, as it will take time. In the meantime, we will join you in your search for helpful information and post it on the community. Some of the BYU Webinars might be a helpful start. Here is one I have been wanting to watch to try to understand how AI can help me with my family search.

Thanks guys, I feel a bit more justified in asking about this, and less stupid about the times when people bring up stuff that is written down to answer my questions in the community. We got a lot of good answers here that will help people with similar questions, have a good day everyone, and feel free to make this a repository for links to where we can find out the information relevant to current family search directions.
