April 30 edited April 30 in Search

Beginning 30 April 2026, you will need to sign in to view the FamilySearch Catalog. This will stabilize and protect the Catalog.

This change does not require anyone to create a second account; existing FamilySearch accounts will continue to provide full access to the FamilySearch Catalog.

Previously, several resources—such as the Research Wiki and digitized books—could be accessed without signing in. This update standardizes access requirements so that the primary search catalog now also requires users to be signed in.

For those who do not yet have a FamilySearch Account, one can be created using either an email address or a mobile phone number.
