Can I Fix an Incorrect Spelling for a Standardized Place Name?
Hello, I tried typing in a place name for a person's burial, and was surprised that it did not come up under the standardized suggestions. So, I had to opt for entering it at the county level, instead of the township. However, upon making a typo, I found that it actually showed up under an incorrect spelling. The place is properly spelled as "Schaefferstown, Heidelberg Township, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania." The name in the standardized list comes up incorrectly with the "c" missing: "Shaefferstown."
This is a pretty minor issue, but it did have me confused at first. Does anyone know if there is a way to correct the spelling of the standardized place name so it shows up properly in the suggestions list?
Many thanks for your help!

Sometimes people from the Places group will be on these boards and correct simple items based on a post here. Looks like that has happened here because the correct spelling now shows up in the Places database. ( https://www.familysearch.org/en/research/places/?focusedId=13778384 ) I'm not sure how long it takes for the change to sync over into data entry for Family Tree, but probably later today or by tomorrow at the latest I would think you should see the correct spelling show up in the dropdown menu.

From https://www.familysearch.org/research/places/Drill down to the place, in this case: Shaefferstown, Heidelberg Township, Lebanon, Pennsylvania, United States
and elect Improve This Place
