I trying to get Family Search to accept the death date correction my great grandfather's record.

    This would be easir if a stated above you could provide more details, like a PID # or URL to your grandfather; however, the general rules are listed below.

    How to make a correction to Great Grandfathers death date.

    1. First if he is marked as living, you must change the status to deceased before changing the dates.
    2. Go to the profile listed for your Great Grandfather image.png

    3. Access the vitals information as shown above

    4. Using the pencil Icon edit the information

    5, Enter the correct date, location and provide a reason for the change. Then click save.

    While not strictly required to save a change, attaching records such as a death certificate, obituary, or funeral program provides proof and prevents others from reverting your correction.
