Missing Family Members on 1920 US Census
I'm not sure if this is the best place to pose this question but I'm at my wits end. I'm trying to find my great-grandfather Myer Tatelbaum in the 1920 US Census. The Boston City Directory says he was living at 128 Florida Street in Boston. Who I believe is his sister, Mary Polansky (nee Tatelbaum) and her husband Harry Polonsky are listed as living at that address in the 1920 Census.
I'm also looking for another couple living in Boston on the 1920 US Census. Israel Tatelbaum (Tetelbaum--various spellings) and his wife Rebecca. The city directory says they were living at 18 No. Russell Street; however, all available evidence suggests the actual number was 16 No. Russell. The census skips from 14 No. Russell to 18 No. Russell. I think the actual address was 16 No. Russell Street as Mary Polansky's wedding certificate in Boston for 1918 uses that address. Israel and Rebecca were living there till at least 1923 when they purchased a house at 33 Evelyn Street in Boston. Israel and Rebecca have four children (two daughters were born in Russia and two sons in Massachusetts). Childrens name and approximate ages would be Jean (Jennie) about 16 years old, Eva about 14-15 years old, Harry would be above seven years old and Samuel about six years old.
I'm trying to find one last piece of proof that my great-grandfather Myer was related to Mary Polansky and Rebecca Tatelbaum. I have a lot of evidence to suggest I'm correct but of course there is some negative evidence as well. I find it odd that I can't find these three particular people in the 1920 census. Myer and Israel were both tailors. Israel owned his own shop.
I've tried Ancestry, Familysearch, Steve Morse, National Archives, and I'm coming up with nothing.
The State would be Massachusetts, County Suffolk, Township is Boston Ward 5 and the Enumeration District is 135.
Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Kind Regards,
SMurray

For anyone who would like to help, here's Myer's profile. This is Rebecca's profile. This should be Mary's profile, and her 1920 census.

There are also some apparent duplicate profiles for Myer and his family.

According to the "Massachusetts, Boston Resident Lists," Meyer Tatelbaum, Tailor, was living at 15 Ferndale Street between 1921 and 1923.
In that same collection, Harry Polonsky, Tailor, is also listed at 15 Ferndale Street for those years.
Records found on MyHeritage.0 -
In the same Massachusetts, Boston Resident Lists for 1920, Harry Polonsky is listed at 128 Florida, but there are no Tatlebaum entries at that address.
The 1920 book also indicates that Harry had been living at 12 Chambers Street in 1919.For 1918-1919, Isreal Tatlebaum, Tailor, is listed at 16 N Russell

In 1924, Myer and Fannie Tattlebaum are listed at 157 Charles Street, with a note that they lived at 118 Quincy Street in 1923.

I presume you have the obituary for Myer Tatelbaum, listing his sisters as Mary Polansky and Brindle Tatelbaum.

Thanks for taking a look. I'm not sure how to cite you specifically Aine.ni.Donnghalle. I have almost every piece of information possible including addresses except for the 1920 US Census for Myer, Brindle and Israel. I think I can be satisifed knowing that they are no in the census itself. It's possible the address just got lost by mistake. Rare, but it happens.

I remember so clearly the day the 1940 US Census was released. I knew exactly where my mother was living, in a small town in Georgia. She was the first person I looked for. She was missed. I found her parents in a nearby even smaller town. I found her older sister - enumerated TWICE - with her new husband. It happens.
I sometimes cite a thread like this one, with a link to the thread, and a copy, in the event the website eventually goes away.0 -
