Good afternoon, i would appreciate if someone with an Ancestry account could share who the mother of “Sebastián José de Leyva Savinón” is. On FamilySearch, no information about his mother is shown, so I assume the sources are currently on Ancestry. I’m attaching the link, and in case it doesn’t work, i will also share his information to locate that profile in Ancestry. Thank you in advance!

    @Jesé.
    The link you posted is to an Ancestry user's tree, not to a source record. The tree has no sources. That is, there is no evidence to support the names of parents.
    I would want much better evidence than an unsourced tree.

    Also, it is counter to Ancestry's Terms of Service for a subscriber to share Ancestry content.
    You can access Ancestry records and trees at your local FamilySearch Center or your local public library.

    Oh, interesting. I read somewhere here that genealogy without sources is mythology, haha. So next time I go to an FS center I’ll check that profile. Thanks!

    A quick search of records on FamilySearch shows the following Christening Record from Granada Spain in 1753. The parents match the parents listed on the other Tree and it lists Granada as the location for the Christening. The middle name is different, but if the location and parents match, you may want to check it out. From that tree it looks as though the family settles in Honduras, so that may help you know if this is a fit or not.

    @NALeyba That was precisely the source that made me question Sebastián José’s genealogy. Someone before me knew his name was Sebastián José, but didn’t mind that the person in the attached source was Sebastián Eustaquio, and that also he got married in 1782 in Granada. I suppose they got confused since both were born in the 1750s. In a marriage investigation, Sebastián is even listed as the son of Manuel, not Marcos, who would be the father of Sebastián Eustaquio. It’s a shame, because it seems this Leyba lineage in Guatemala (later Honduras) dates back to the 1570s, and FamilySearch has few sources from that period. Luckily, I noticed this mistake.

    @Jesé.
    I've been to my FSC today, and I downloaded a copy of that Granada baptism, if you would like a copy, as backup.
