How to put memories in "correct" order? They have been "scrambled" on my personal page.

PLEASE note: The memories ARE IN ORDER in my gallery! But they are OUT OF ORDER (scrambled) on my personal page.

I called Familysearch.org and talked with 2 missionaries. First one said, "Create an album." Ok, but I don't know how to do that, and had to take care of something else so I hung up. Second missionary told me to use "Ask a question."

BIG question: How and why did my memories (photos, stories, documents) get scrambled?

I don't want to put the Memories in the "Chronological order" in which the events/photos/stories/documents occurred. I want them to be in the "Chronological order" in which I PUT the items into Memories.

Remember: they are NOT scrambled in my Gallery.

Please forgive me for repeating myself. Please do not repeat if you provide an answer. It only creates confusion for me. Many others like to have repetition - they think they understand the problem better. I don't.

If you would like to set the order for memories on the Memories tab of a person profile, use the FILTER button. That will present you with options for how those memories are sorted. It sounds like you would prefer the option for "Newest Added". The FILTER button and "Newest Added" sort option are both circled in red below. The "Newest Added" option is the default, so "RESET FILTERS" would also have the same effect.

Please keep in mind: the Gallery and Person Page Memories are two very different things.

In your Gallery, you will see every Memory you have ever uploaded to FamilySearch. This will include all the Memories you might have attached to yourself or other individuals in the FamilySearch tree.

When you go to a Person Page and select their Memories tab, you will ONLY see those Memories that have been tagged to that person. So, if you are looking at your Person Page, you will ONLY see Memories you have tagged to yourself. You will not see every Memory from your Gallery.

A note about Albums: Albums are a tool found in the Gallery. Not in the Memories tab from a Person Page.

Albums are useful in the Gallery because they can help you organize all those many Memories you are uploading.

The Album is also the only place you can do a “Custom Order”—you can drag and move your Memories and save them in that custom order. You then have the option to “Share” that Album with anyone you want—there is a “Share” option at the top right of the Album where you can generate a link that can be shared with anyone, and that shared Album will keep your custom order.

But, as noted above, the rest your Gallery can only be organized in a few specific ways. Check out the “Filter” and “Sort” options in your Gallery.

When you go to a Person Page and their Memories tab, however, the “Filter” options are slightly different. They are meant to help, although, as you can see, the options are limited.

Yes, not everything is perfect, but the Memories Team has tried to do the best they can to help all FamilySearch guests. Thanks for your patience.
