Hello everyone. I am trying to find out the name of my husbands great grandfathers parents.

His name was Henerich Gleye and he was born on 30.07.1833 Stendal Sachsen-Anhalt and died 08.12.1906 Ohaupo New Zealand.

He married a Emilie Wedel, and they had a daughter but Emilie passed away and he immagrated to New Zealand leaving the daughter behind. He remarried a Catherine Turnwald.

I have a copy of his death certificate but it does not have his parents names on it.

Can anyone please help me. Is there an email address I can request a copy of the birth certificate from?

Thank you

@c615 Have you tried going to the FamilySearch Wiki pages to search Anhalt Germany.

You might want to post - with as much information as you have - in the Germany Research Group, where members experienced in the region may have other suggestions.

Best of luck with the search!

I have done a lot of family research in Germany. FamilySearch has very limited resources. Ancestry has a few more. The best place I found was Archion (archion.de). It is a subscription service, but you can subscribe for just a month for about $20.

Archion has digitized—but not indexed—copies of German church records. You need to know the parish, but it looks like you are okay on that. Some of the older records are really hard to read, but because Henerich was born after 1803, your records will probably be typed. Look on the FamilySearch wiki for a vocabulary list of German genealogy words, and you're all set!

Archion has a feature where you can check BEFORE you subscribe to make sure they have the records for your specific parish.

    I highly recommend it!
