I can't verify my family tree in Italy
I've been trying to get more information on my ancestors in Italy but I keep hitting bring walls. I tried to get information on my grandfathers family or my great grandfathers family or even as far back as the 1700's but there's so much overlap and name variations I can't seem to verify much of anything. I'm told my great grandfather was Paolo Ambrosio Bersano and my grandfather was Oreste Ambrosio Luigi Bersano. When I search, although all are in either Piedmont area or Milan area - I still get several different wives, 6 different siblings, 4 different parents and many different spelling of names. On the names, it can be Bersano, Barsano, Bersiano, Bessano, Bersani and more. The wives maiden names can be Data, Dato, Piano, Piani, Falotti, Faletti, Filetti. Sometimes they are called by confirmation or communion name. I can't even verify my grandfather. I'm very frustrated and don't know how to proceed. Please help.

Thank-you. I thought that's where I posted. I am new to this so I might have cross-posted it to your group without knowing. What group are you in?
