Problem with 1860 Census Page - index missing
Hello,
I found my ancestor in the 1860 United States census in Ancestry, but was unable to successfully use FamilySearch Records Search to find it. I decided to browse through the film, and easily located the page. It turns out that only three names on the page were actually indexed, and a few others say that they are "illegible," even though the writing is very clear. So, in other words, no one will be able to search their ancestors if they appear on this page. Is there a way to add them? Or, is FamilySearch able to correct this issue somehow?
I also notice that the next page's index is completely blank. However, it is a full page of names, and the handwriting is very clear. Also, some other pages have names that say "illegible" where the writing is clear.
It looks like the data came from Fold3. Not sure if that has anything to do with it?
I would be grateful for any help. Thank you in advance!
