rootstech 2026 sort by location
Can't sort relatives by location (country or state/province) Something changed late Sunday night or Monday. Only drop-down menus that work are sort by ancestors or sort by family line. Has happened to my wife's account as well. We are using Android phones to access, not a desktop computer. Called help desk, they were flummoxed. Escalated, and said try cleaning cache and reboot. Didn't help. It's kind of cool to see relatives currently in different countries. Can't filter that way now. Anyone else experiencing this?

- On my Android phone, I can filter relatives by location (and by the other filter criteria). I seem to get the relevant relatives listed in each case. However, when I tap on any of the relatives, nothing happens; I don't see the expected drop-down offering CHAT, RELATIONSHIP and CONTACT.
- On my Windows desktop, it's all working as expected.

It is NOT working for me on the Android app at all. I can't see anything with any of the drop down options. I have the latest version of the app.
I does work on the website browser for me.0 -
@JamesKenney10 I assumed that you were using the website. That was what I was looking at when I found that I could see the relatives, but couldn't actually do anything with a particular relative.
@Amy Archibald Like what you have found, the Android Family Tree app (5.4.0) doesn't work at all. I see no locations in the drop-down of the By Location tab, and if I select either the By Ancestor tab or By Family Line tab, the drop-downs are populated with appropriate ancestors (each with the appropriate count of relatives), but no relatives appear in the list. However, I also have an older phone that can only run the app version 4.8.16, and there the RootsTech function works fine. (This is not the first time that I have written a sentence like that!)

@JamesKenney10 @JulianBrown38 @Amy Archibald I will see if I can get this moved up the line in order for the experts to review the issue.

It looks like it is working now on the Android Family Tree app. No update to the app is needed — the fix must have been done in a service the app relies on.
And on every platform, it's working better — how you are related to each person is shown again.
