Both Elias and Elizabeth Minskip Carter CARTER were listed in Gentry Co, Missouri in the 1870 Census, so were alive until at least June/ the date of the 1870 Census. They had come from S. Carolina to CARROLL Co, TENN.
So many people have them CONFUSED with Elias Carter b 1794 died 1865 of GREENE Co, TENN who married EliSabeth SHEFFER. (from Ohio?)

What you have shown looks correct to me. .. There are a lot of people online who have the first listed Elias listed as married to the 2nd Elias' wife and vice versa. Several years ago, there was a Scott-Bell genealogy page online that listed the Elias Carter 1794-1863 & Elisabeth Sheffer as the parents of my 2nd Great grandfather Madison Gilbert Lafayette Carter when the first couple, Elias Carter 1790-after Jun 1 1870 and Elizabeth Minskip /Carter/ Carter are his correct parents. A lot of people still have mix-ups in the pairings.
