Error on 1911 Census for England and Wales

Person ID: GN6X‑K2G

Collection: 1911 Census

The indexed child appears in the 1911 census as “Jahanna Meech,” age 5 (born c.1906), but is incorrectly assigned a marriage date of 1891. Census schedules do not record marriage dates for children. The marriage year likely belongs to the parents or is a column misassociation. The name should read Mary Johanna Meech. Ancestry and Findmypast index this correctly.

The listing that comes up in Family Search shows Jahanna Meech, but the information is a copy from her sister Johanna Meech (born in 1906). The actual 1911 census lists her name as Mary (born in 1900).  Some of the transcriptions show her age as 1 year old with a correction to 11 years old, but the record really shows her age as 11 years old.

@IdahoSusieQ It seems the marriage date of the parents is carrying over to all in the household. I found the same error in other families that I randomly checked. Thanks for making us aware!
