Hello @SerraNola , I have a related question. I’m an indexer with the Polish Genealogical Society, and I would love to index records from my ancestors’ parish, Brzeźnica Nowa.

Most of the microfilms from this parish are accessible, but film no. 2289954 is locked - likely because item 2 includes birth records up to 1928 (which, under Polish law, are restricted until 2029). However, item 3 of the same film contains marriage records from 1917–1935, which are no longer restricted, as more than 80 years have passed since their creation.

These scans would be invaluable for indexing work. Would it be possible to unlock item 3 while keeping item 2 restricted?

@Małgorzata6954 Dates are correct on this film so I can ask for the restrictions to be reviewed but there could be other circumstances for why the whole film is blocked and not just Item 2. It will be added to the list of "questionable" restrictions.

Thank you very much for you help, @SerraNola . Would it be possible to get an update when the final decision about this film is made?

@Małgorzata6954 just in case @SerraNola doesn't see this before our meeting today, I will follow up also with the "questionable" restrictions.

Hello @SerraNola and @lindsayanngermer1 , sorry for bothering you, but are there any updates with regards to this microfilm?

@Małgorzata6954 In the case of this film a review process was of no value. The problem is our rights evaluation system is falling back up the hierarchy to the film level date range and that falls into the "other category" I mentioned. I am seeing more and more of these and will address it with engineers at our next meeting. Sorry I don't have a better update for you.

Thank you for the information. So I think the only way to solve that would be to divide the film into two films if that was possible.
