Some records in Estonia, Church Books and Synagogue ... appear to have location indexed incorrectly

This collection appears to have some mis-indexed records:https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Estonia,Church_Books_and_Synagogue_Registers-_FamilySearch_Historical_Records

The specific records of which I know are from: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-6DSQ-8PG?view=index&cc=1932350&lang=en&groupId=M94W-TDL which clearly indicates the records are from a historical German church record book:

  • Subject: Church book of the German urban congregation of St. John's Church.
  • Location: Dorpat (now Tartu, Estonia).
  • Time Period: 1834 to 1850.
  • Maintained by: Senior Pastor Friedrich Gustav Bienemann.

However, it appears the records for a large number (maybe all) of people recorded in the book are indexed for a location of: Tapa, Järva, Estland which is 127 km away: https://maps.app.goo.gl/zc5BvsH8y4jYrqHR9

I do not know what entity indexed the records (and I do not care to know) or why (also don't care). I do know the FS platform "includes several features specific to … facilitating temple ordinance work" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FamilySearch so I think the platform would want to be very accurate with baptismal records and fixing any errors.

Does anyone know if these erroneously-indexed baptismal records are already being considered for fixing the location? If so, is there a projected date for when these records are planned to be fixed? Can I be put on a list of people to be notified about changes to the status of fixing these records since my 3rd great-grandfather was the "Senior Pastor Friedrich Gustav Bienemann" mentioned on the first several pages of the church record book?

This adds to my "wince and cringe" list even though I know that FS is mainly 98+% correct in supplying information to users which I don't applaud enough. I know of no other platform, in which, I would want to participate. 🌦️

@BookWorm5 Eight of the eleven items on this film are actually records of Tapa. Item 11 was incorrectly assigned the same place name. I have sent this for correction and I believe accurate metadata should transfer to record details and search results. Sometime it takes a while for updates to appear in the search database so it will take as long as it takes. Thank you for reporting!

Update: Changing the metadata removed Tapa as the event place but is not displaying Dorpat. I'll have engineers take a look.
