    Hi @Ann9605,

There are a lot of factors that go into being able to find an ancestors death place and date. The best thing to do is to start with what you know. Ancestry.com has a specific page just for finding death information. Here is the link for that page,

    ancestry death records

You can also do the same type of search on FamilySearch. On the home page click on the search option and then pick records.

Then enter the information you do know in the provided boxes.

Once you click on search you will get a screen that will allow you to just search death records.

You have options under the death records that can help narrow down what country you are looking in and what time period.

Here is what happened when I narrowed my search.

One thing to keep in mind is not all death records will list the place the person was born. If you are looking for a female ancestor who was married, you will most likely find her listed under her married last name. If you have information about parents or siblings, you may be able to find the person you are looking for listed in an obituary for one of these family members. Obituaries sometimes list the places the relatives are living and in the case of married females, may list their married last name. I hope that this helps. Good luck with your research.
