I was reviewing my notes where I had offered to help with research, to make sure I had followed up on each request. This closed thread from Sep 2024 was still on my list, and the issue does not seem to have been resolved.

DGS 5749771 was duplicated by 103885123, which was the subject in the original thread. Although 5749771 was deprecated, it cannot be removed due to its source in the old OLIB system, and RMS cannot override these records, so it will stay in the catalog for now. At least the issue is now understood.
