Description:
I have a relationship‑calculation inconsistency in FamilySearch.
Here are the relevant PIDs:

  • Torger Bergeson — GW8N‑7C6 Shows as my 11th great-grandfather.
  • [Son who shows “No Relationship”]
    • Berg Tørgerson Egeland PID: KLY1-G7W Shows relationship unknown.
  • His daughter: Karen Bergsdatter Egeland PID: KVJV-SPX shows as my 1st cousin 11x removed.
  • Torger Bergeson has two other sons: Halvard L4XX-7G3 and Vrål G314-MYG. All three sons have the same father and mother: Torger GW8N-7C6 and mother: 4Z2R-98G

When I click View Relationship for the granddaughter, Karen, FamilySearch shows a valid relationship path through: Berg Tørgerson Egeland PID: KLY1-G7W

Please refer to the Knowledge Article below. As stated in the article, the relationship calculator identifies direct-line relationships back to AD 200. The calculator identifies descendancy relationships for your direct-line ancestors who were born after AD 1500. Prior to AD 1500 the calculator only shows direct line relationships. It will not show descendancy relationships. If you are related to a person born before AD 1500, and you do not have a direct line relationship. no relationship will be found in Family Tree.
