Copying living cousins and aunts and uncles to the Family Group Tree

Like previously mentioned in this feed, I am having trouble copying living cousins and aunts and uncles that have been added in the main family tree. I am assisting a patron. The children and grandchildren are easily viewed and copied but we don't see the living aunts or uncles to check their box and nothing happens when we click on deceased aunts or uncles to open up the family line to see living cousins. We have called Family Search twice and they didn't know but one call indicated they heard there was a technical problem with entering cousins and the engineers were working on fixing it but they had no definite info to support. Does anyone know if this is a technical glitch or do you have advise on how to copy living aunts, uncles, and cousins.

@Mary Jo Billings I assume from the title of this discussion that the patron has set up or is a member of a family group and a family group tree.

You refer to "copying living cousins and aunts and uncles that have been added in the main family tree". If your patron has created profiles for those individuals, and made sure that they are not marked as deceased, then those profiles will be visible (as private people) to the patron only or, if they were created within a family group tree, to members of the family group. Unless you are acting as a "helper" for the patron, you won't be able to see any of their living, private people.

With regard to a "technical problem with entering cousins", there isn't a way to enter cousins directly. Profiles are connected to parents, children and spouses, and other relationships (aunts, uncles and cousins of various degrees) are based on those connections. So, there can't be a "problem with entering cousins".

So that I understand correctly: When I open my family group tree then click on "Copy from Family Search Tree" the portrait view of family group tree appears. Then I can add my living children because they show up under me in the portrait view. However, if I want to add a living cousin to my family group tree who is listed in my Family Search Tree the system doesn't bring up those people because they are living? Or is it because they are not directly connected to me?

So, regardless of why they don't show up my understanding is that I have to get out of the Copy from FamilySearch Tree and go to the profile in the family group tree of the person they are directly connected to and add them manually. I believe that is what your comment "there isn't a way to enter cousins directly" means. I just want to be sure I'm understanding it right?
