The place: Township 13 Range 12, Scott, Illinois, United States in the 1870 Census is incorrectly indexed as Place: Scott Township, Ogle, Illinois, United States, a very different location.

I can change an individual's record to "Scott, Illinois, United States", but it would be better if it was done for all the records. Searching for this place did not find the person of interest, only widening the search did.

Here is one I have changed https://www.familysearch.org/en/tree/person/details/L288-4VT

and the census page

Thank you

    @SerraNola
    Another one for your very long list of place name gremlins.

    An example from that same page shows the Event Place (Original) breadcrumb:

    Thanks.

    @FLQR The 1870 census has a long history. It experienced significant issues with place name errors due to early challenges in migration standardization. A correction was implemented that fixed many mistakes but introduced new ones, including altering the original indexing. As a result, these errors can be user edited, but the collection was placed back on the long list awaiting an improved and more comprehensive resolution.
