Looking for birth record of grandfather in Wisconsin 1907

A helpful person advised me to ask this question here.

I would like to get a copy of the birth record for my paternal grandfather, born March 18, 1907 in Douglas county, Wisconsin, USA. My grandfather died June 26, 1996 - I don't know if Wisconsin law would allow me access to this record a certain number of years after he died.

The digitized images are apparently restricted, and not allowed to be viewed online. Does this mean hire someone with access to print an image of the birth record and send it to me? The link is

https://www.familysearch.org/en/search/catalog/koha:733099

and I have the FHL film number and the Image group number (DGS).

Thanks for any enlightenment that anyone can provide on how to request an image or printout of this record.

I've had success obtaining copies of Wisconsin vital records from Salt Lake by using a local researcher with the necessary permissions to access them.

Also, Ancestry has some Wisconsin birth record images. Restricting my search to an exact DOB of 18 Mar 1907 and Douglas County, I see 2 male births that match.

One is a delayed registration; the other appears to be a contemporaneous record. Based on the date of death you mention for your grandfather, the record would appear to be this one

    Per googling:
Pre-1907: State-level birth records and about 27,000 delayed records are available through the Wisconsin Historical Society.

    • 1907-Present: Full records for births from October 1907 to the present can be ordered from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (.gov).

Right now, the purchasing option for this type of record is offline while Wisconsin Historical Society is making changes in their ordering system and service delivery methods. I did find the Birth Index Record for March 1907 with microfilm reel num and record number, and I have saved the URL for that birth index record.

I am waiting for a response from wisconsinhistory.org to my request for email updates about the changes to their order system and service delivery methods.

Yes, I have the URL for the record at https://wisconsinhistory.org/Records/Birth and the Microfilm Reel number and Record Number. I think that hiring someone [webiste referal removed] might be easier than hiring someone from Utah, since it looks like the records in Madison, Wisconsin do not require special access permissions.
