AI Research Assistant

My home page used to have AI Research Assistant. It isn't there now, nor is it in campaigns. I saw a RootsTech session (the FIRST ONE) about it and I don't have it. What can I do to get it back? I have written 7 (Feedback) notices and I don't think anyone is watching that.

I still have a research assistant on my home page. This is how it shows on the top right of a person's page. They removed the top banner. I think you still need to have Lab Experiment turned on

What you can see on your Home Page may depend on your location. There have been several recent threads indicating that some features are not available in all parts of the world.

I am from Canada. Have they turned it off for Canadians?

@Kelly B. Thomas So on my home screen for FamilySearch, this is where it has shown up before and is showing up now:

My question is; did you happen to close the arrow on the right of the AI Research Assistant? How long has it been that you haven't seen it?

Just wondering why some people are treated differently? Where I live?

We have been told that the decision is made by those responsible in a specific region. That is, not a top-down decision from FamilySearch/Salt Lake but at the regional level.

@Kelly B. Thomas We have sent this question up the line to be reviewed. Supposedly, the A.I. is no longer in the FamilySearch Lab, so it is supposed to be available to everyone at this point.

I have left 13 messages on the Feedback button on the Homepage asking why AI Research Assistant was taken off of my Homepage. This is how many responses I have received….

That's right - NO Response. Do those feedback buttons even work? Does ANYONE even look at them or are they just a prop? FamilySearch support missionaries encourage people to leave feedback on those buttons but what is the use?

If I'm looking for a response on an issue, I bring it to the community here. The feedback button setup would, probably necessarily, be one-way. The volume that probably goes through that channel is likely far too high for anything other than a massive set of staff to do a reasonable rate of reply.

    So I just come here.

@Kelly B. Thomas I'm sorry your experience has been so frustrating, and I agree with @David Alan Webber , the community is a great place to get answers. I assure you that the feedback does get looked at, but it does not always generate responses. You mention that the AI research assistant was taken off of your homepage. I believe there was a recent change how the research assistant appears on the page, but it should still be there. On the home page, it is located under a green banner, and says, AI Research Assistant. The other place to find it is on the person profile page, where it is located on the right hand side of the page under research help. It is highlighted in green there as well. Please reach out again if this doesn't help!

Feedback generally does not respond. I've never had a response. I believe I've seen one person - just one - say here that she had a response from Feedback, and that was several years ago.

Just so you are aware, Feedback comments go directly to the engineering teams. They take this feedback very seriously but they aren't likely to respond unless they need additional information. Just know that your feedback was received and it is reviewed. If you are asking a question or looking for help, that isn't a good place to ask, because that button is to provide feedback on the current page and it isn't intended to answer user questions. Questions should be directed to one of the Support channels, like here in the community or by calling/emailing us. We are happy to help you! In the community, we are in a good position to reach out to engineering or other groups to get answers or report bugs. Hope this helps! Sam 🙂

@Kelly B. Thomas Can you confirm that you are still not seeing the AI Research Assistant? I have verified that you should be seeing it. If you are still not seeing it, will you post another screenshot that includes more of the page, including the URL? Also provide the operating system and version you are using on your computer. I will submit this as a bug if you are still having issues. Sam 🤔
