I cannot use the app.
I am able to get to my tree with no problem from the website but cannot from the app. I had to uninstall it because the web link to the tree would open my app instead of the page. I also cannot link my Google account. It might be due to me uploading a gedcom instead of using the default tree and there's no way in the app to select my created tree from my gedcom upload.

The Family Tree app does not let you view trees from the Genealogies section of the website. It can show you a Family Group Tree or the main Family Tree, but that's it for now. If you want to view any tree in Genealogies, you must use the website.
As for your experience with the app opening Web links, you can disable that if you'd like (since your screenshots show that you are using Android). Just go to the App Info for the app, and then under Open by Default, set it to open links In Your Browser. Then you can use the app all you want, but Web links will open in your browser so that you can use the website fully for whatever you want.
