Merge two FS accounts
Is there a way to merge a non-LDS account with a LDS account? I have a new member who has two FS accounts. Someone tried helping him set up an account for Tools. When he came to me in the FSC, he told me he didn't have any church accounts. I helped him create a FS account, adding in the membership number, etc. After he had added several generations to his FS account, it was realized that it was non-LDS account (no ordinances showing). I have the username for his church account after calling the help desk. I was told by them that we could not merge the two accounts. This doesn't seem correct to me. My reasoning is that if a non-member starts a FS account and has done extensive work, then later is baptized, his two accounts should be able to be merged. Is this correct? Please help. Thank you.

@Lewis.9192 There should be no reason to open a new account. You just need to add your membership number to your existing account. See How to Add Membership Number
Sign into FamilySearch.org.Click yournameor profile icon in the upper-right corner and selectSettings.Click theAccounttab.Scroll to the bottom and find the question: "Are you a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?" and clickYes.ClickAdd Church Record Number(if you don't see this, your number may already be linked).Enter your first and last name, birth date, and the11-digit or 13-characterrecord number.ClickSave, then sign out and sign back in to see the changes
