I am not able to see people posts?

I have been chating for the last few years with a distant cousin and I believe I was able to see the items that she posted in the specific people area. I am now not able to see the people in that section or the things this person posted that are also related to me? When will the people section be back so that I can see them?

Unusual not to see a prompt reply to questions posted here - perhaps, like me, other Community members are not sure what "people section" you are referencing. Perhaps you could describe where exactly you usually find this. FamilySearch terminology does tend to be confusing at times (e.g. Profile page, (or) Details page, (or) Person page, etc.), so please provide a little more detail on your issue.

If I understand your question, you are referring to the Chat option in the FamilySearch Family Tree.

    Is that correct?

FamilySearch changed the messaging system in 2024, and some older messages are no longer available. This Help Article may be useful: https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/familysearch-chat-frequently-asked-questions-faqs

@Karen Harper Make sure you have a Birthday set up in your profile showing you are 18 or older; chat will not work if you leave it blank or are under 18.

The chat feature is not available in these circumstances:

    • The user is under the age of 18.
    • The user does not have a valid birth date.
    • The user did not enable chat in the account settings.
    • The user lives in a country where chat is not enabled.
