Ways to exclude newspapers on Full Text
I get tired of typing in a person for full text and have to go through 49 pages of newspapers before I get to anything else. Is there any way to EXCLUDE newsapapers from the options so I don't have to click on 129 other options and just exclude that one?

Hi @EvelynMaples,
There are some filters that you can use on full text search to only get the records you want. I have a screen shot here of a general search I made.
I was searching for an ancestor in Jackson county, Oregon and as you can see I got over 100,000 results, the first result being a newspaper article in Wake county, North Carolina. On the bottom left of the screen is the word filters. If you click on that you get a drop down box
You can apply filters by collection, year, place and record type. If I click on the down arrow by collections this list comes up.
The list is all of the collections of records that are part of my over 100,000 results. I can scroll through this list and mark any box of records I would like to look at. I marked the Oregon Will collection and my results dropped down to just over 11,000 and the third result was a collection of wills from Jackson county, Oregon.
The filters aren't perfect but it does really help remove records you aren't interested in looking at. I hope this helps.
