Hallo zusammen,

über den nachfolgenden Link konnte ich früher die Heimatortkartei Danzig aufrufen, nun funktioniert dieser Link nicht mehr. Ich habe es auch schon über alle möglichen Suchfunktionen versucht. Kann mir jemand helfen?

I used to be able to access the Danzig hometown registry via the following link, but now it no longer works. I've already tried using all possible search functions. Can anyone help me?

@Ivonne Korth In early December 2025, FamilySearch blocked access to this collection out of respect for German and Polish privacy laws because the card file contains data of people who may still be alive. Currently there are five films unrestricted in error and in the next update they will also be inaccessible.

I regret to share this disappointing news as I don't think there is any other online resource for these records. The originals are found at the Bayreuth Archive.

I too have had the same disappointing experience this week. Suddenly there is no access to Danzig Home Town cards. This is most regrettable. These cards are invaluable for family information and I have accessed them many times before. Many churchbook and civil records from this location were destroyed in the war, leaving no trace of genealogical information. The Heimatortkartei Danzing cards served to fill in some vital gaps in missing information.
