My father's side of the family is from the provinces of Verona, and Vicenza. I believe dad's mother's side is Jewish. Where would I find records to prove this? And, where can I find records for that region that go from about 1800 to the 1850's? I am trying to find proof of where Monsignor Giovanni Fossa' connects? I believe he is the brother of my great great grandfather Francesco Fossa', but have no proof. Help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan Fossa

In cases like this, it is always best to methodically work your way backwards from records that you know are valid and connected to your ancestors.

Beginning with your father, connect each generation back with records until you have worked your way back to the actual town of his ancestors in Verona and Vicenza.

Those are very highly populated places with a complicated history. You will need specific dates and towns to narrow things down.

Broadly, I would be starting here once I had the information I needed: https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/search-registry/?localita=Verona

    and here:
